A family, a homestead, and work worth doing
His Homestead grows out of our family’s desire to care for what God has given us and build a life together on the land.
Learning together
Our family homesteads in Midcoast Maine. The work is shared: tending animals, making improvements, and learning through the ordinary tasks that return every morning and evening.
We keep goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and livestock guardian dogs. Each brings different needs and lessons, and together they shape the rhythm of our days.
Why “His Homestead”?
The name reminds us that what we have is entrusted to us. We seek to care for it with gratitude, knowing that stewardship is practiced in small, consistent acts.
Faith in daily life
Our Orthodox Christian faith is part of how we approach family life and farming. We are learning to work faithfully, use our resources wisely, and treat the creatures in our care with attention and respect.
A place still growing
The homestead is a work in progress. We’ll share real photographs, animal profiles, and seasonal updates as we continue building it.
